Bridging the gap between day 1 postpartum and your 6 week follow up appointment
Learn how to set yourself up for success in this vulnerable time of life. I designed this course to feel like you have a friend with you in these precious early weeks that also happens to be a pelvic floor physical therapist, giving you expert advise on how to move (and breathe and sit and sleep!) in this season to optimize your recovery.
Concepts and strategies every woman should know to return to exercise with confidence
This is what I like to call Phase 1 of returning to exercise or the 'pre-workout phase'. This course is not guided exercises but rather education on how to build the foundation needed in order to get back to the things you love like running or your favorite class at the gym. This is what I've found that is missing in a lot of women's postpartum return to exercise routine. This can play out in different ways, maybe you:
- Get cleared for exercise at your 6 week postpartum appointment and without the presence of pelvic floor symptoms, you might not get referred to pelvic floor PT. Now you jump right into an exercise app, class or just start winging it from what you did pre-baby. If you start to develop symptoms, and then get into pelvic floor pt, it is these foundational concepts that we teach first.
- Imagine your return to exercise postpartum as a pyramid. This course teaches you the foundation of that pyramid in order for you to build upon. Without a strong foundation, there can be issues that start to arise higher up. We must go back down to the foundational level and implement these strategies of movement and awareness in order to get our pyramid to stand strong.
